After signing Pau Gasol, the San Antonio Spurs further strengthened their bench by signing David Lee on a two-year deal with a second year player option.
At 33, Lee can no longer produce the same way he did back in 2013 when he was an All-Star and made the All-NBA third team, but he can still contribute. He is still a great passer, can stretch to the high post, score in the paint, and is a reliable rebounder. According to ESPN's Marc Stein, Lee's deal is worth $3.2M over two years, making him a great value replacement for Boris Diaw ($7M in 2016-2017).
